Please note that only cash or Paypal is accepted for Onsite registration.

**Onsite registration is $99 for students and $150 for faculty.**

Please note that registration fees include membership dues.

The Conference Registration Payment System is open from mid-August until the October payment deadline for ALL authors and ALL co-authors, and from early October until mid-January for attendees who are not authors or co-coauthors.

Registration/dues fees are not refundable, except for persons who have all their proposals rejected by the Program Committee following review.

Please remember that when you registered you agreed that it was your responsibility to review pre-travel COVID-19 testing and quarantine policies and restrictions before traveling.

Explanation of SERA Conference Registration Fees

The completion of SERA conference registration/membership forms, and the receipt of conference registration payments by all proposal authors/co-authors by the mid-OCTOBER deadline, are required as a precondition for proposal review. Furthermore, registration fees are not refundable under any conditions, except for persons who have all of their proposals rejected by the Program Committee following review, only if such persons request reimbursement by December 5th.

The failure to receive registration payments from all authors/co-authors by the mid-OCTOBER deadline will result, without exception, in the automatic summary rejection of the associated proposal(s). We really, really, really do this (every year!).

Business Meeting Luncheon

The only formal meal activity during the conference is the annual business meeting luncheon. The business meeting luncheon is held on the second day of the conference. The business meeting luncheon is a ticketed event. SERA defrays a considerable portion of the expense of the business meeting luncheon, especially for students.

Winners of various SERA awards (e.g., the Student Outstanding Paper, the Dean’s Awards for outstanding papers by students from colleges participating in the Dean’s Awards) are announced at the business meeting luncheon. Additionally, each year by lottery drawing SERA awards reimbursement for 1 hotel room night to 10-15 students. The 10-15 student Travel Awards are only awarded to students who are both (a) officially registered in the conference hotel and (b) in paid attendance at the business meeting luncheon.

The reason that **only** students who are officially registered in the hotel are eligible for free room nights is because SERA directly pays the hotel to credit the winning students’ bills, and this can **only** be done for students who are officially registered in the conference hotel.

Tickets for the business meeting luncheon may be available for purchase during the conference at the conference registration desk. However, in most years few, if any, such tickets are available on site. Each year some members purchase business meeting luncheon tickets as part of the required registration but later find themselves unable to attend the business meeting luncheon. Members may themselves give or sell their business meeting luncheon tickets to other members. Also, at the conference registration desk, SERA sells a limited small number of business meeting luncheon tickets for $20 to members who have been wait-listed for business meeting luncheon tickets.

       Training Session Fees

The SERA annual meeting is bracketed by training sessions. The annual meeting begins with a training session that is 2, 3, or 4 hours in length. Usually, other conference activities are not scheduled against the opening training session. The annual meeting ends with one or more training sessions that are 4 to 8 hours in length and may include meetings on an afternoon and the following morning. Other conference activities are never scheduled against the major end-of-conference training session.

Training session descriptions for a given year’s meeting are available in the recent SERA Newsletters that are archived on the web at: http://sera-edresearch.org/news/. These are ticketed events. Training tickets may be purchased as part of registration. Training tickets also may be purchased at the annual meeting, but only on a “space available” basis. Often, space is not available for training sessions for persons who wait until the annual meeting to buy tickets.

Fees for training sessions are not refundable under any circumstances, except for persons who have all of their proposals rejected, only if such persons request reimbursement by December 10th. However, members are welcome to give or sell their training tickets to other members.

Training sessions are also conducted during the annual meeting. These training sessions are typically 1 hour in length, and typically are free (i.e., are not ticketed).

       Optional Social Activity Fees

In some years (e.g., 5-year anniversaries of SERA’s creation), SERA may hold social events, such as receptions. These events are ticketed, and tickets may involve a nominal fee.

Fees for social events are not refundable under any circumstances, except for persons who have all of their proposals rejected, only if such persons request reimbursement by December 10th. However, members are welcome to give or sell their social event tickets to other members.

       Receipts, Tickets, and Printed Programs

Receipts for your registration fees, and your tickets, badge, printed program, are distributed at the registration desk for the annual meeting, upon your arrival at the annual meeting.
